Creating an App from a Starter App
Introduction
You can use a starter app as the basis for Maia Plan to build a project plan. This allows you to use the right branding elements, pre-installed Marketplace modules, and pre-installed integrations.
Creating an App
Follow these steps to have Maia create a project plan based on a starter app:
-
In Projects, click Create App in the upper right corner.
-
Select Plan & Create App. The Plan & Build with Maia window is displayed.
-
In the Project Starting Point section, select Use a starter app with a predefined Studio Pro version. This opens the list of available starter apps.
-
Click Select Starter App. The Select Starter App window is displayed, listing the available starter apps that correspond to the option you selected at the previous step.
You can search by name or filter by app type (Company-Approved, Public, Private). If a starter app is not compatible with the minimum Studio Pro version required to use this feature, which is 11.11.0, a label is displayed. You can hover over the app's card and click Request Upgrade. This takes you to the component's Marketplace page, where you can upgrade as necessary.
-
Hover over the card of the app that you want to use and click Select. You are taken back to the Plan & Build with Maia window, where the selected starter app is displayed. If needed, you can remove the app from here and start over.
-
Click Generate Plan. This starts the project creation flow. The starter app that's used for the project is displayed in the top bar of the window, just under the project's name.
-
Define the project scope as described in Defining the Scope. With starter apps, Maia brings in all existing information to the Define Scope window.
-
Turn the project scope into a concrete plan, as described in Generating the Plan. The side panel displays the resources which are being used from the starter app.
-
Select your project management tool and send your project plan to Maia Make, as described in Starting the Development.
